The Unlikely Ruler | Luke 19:28–44, Zechariah 9:9 | The Shepherd King | Week 15

 • Kyle Relph • Series: The Shepherd King

On Palm Sunday, Pastor Kyle closes out The Shepherd King series with a message titled The Unlikely Ruler. Tracing the parallels between King David and Jesus, he highlights how God often chooses the humble and unexpected to fulfill His greatest purposes. As Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey, fulfilling prophecy and receiving the crowd’s praise, we see a King who defies human expectations and offers a deeper kind of peace—one not rooted in power or politics, but in surrender and redemption. This final message invites us to consider our own expectations of Jesus. Are we following Him for who He truly is, or for what we want Him to be? Through Luke 19 and Zechariah 9, we’re challenged to trust the leadership of a Savior who came not to meet worldly demands, but to meet the eternal needs of our souls.
