Lewis Recorded: June 14, 2026 Church: New Hope Community Church, Clovis, California C.S. Lewis wasn't a man who lived his faith in an academic vacuum. He knew deep grief, the horrors of war, and for decades, fierce hatred toward God. Before becoming Christianity's great defender, he was a dedicated atheist. His conversion came not as a joyful leap but as reluctant surrender. Lewis lived in the trenches of real life, caring for a demanding household, serving wounded soldiers, and later watching his beloved wife Joy die of cancer. His enduring Christian writings resonate because they emerged from calloused hands and a deeply lived life. This summer series explores three transformative lessons from Lewis: faith engages both reason and imagination, pain isn't God's absence, and we were made for another world. Lewis shows us that God wants all of us, our sharpest intellect and creative imagination. His journey from cynical academic to grace-filled believer reveals how the Holy Spirit can transform any willing heart. New Hope Community Church is a Bible teaching church in Clovis, California.
