• Tim Rolen • Series: Not So Fast
How do you declutter your soul? In Psalm 139:23-24, Pastor Emeritus Tim Rolen shows where spiritual clutter piles up and how to start clearing it, with the Holy Spirit doing the cleaning. Sermon Title: Decluttered Days Speaker: Pastor Emeritus Tim Rolen Scripture: Psalm 139:23-24; Matthew 11:28-29; 1 John 1:9 Series: Not So Fast Recorded: October 4, 2026 Church: New Hope Community Church, Clovis, California Move a couch that hasn't budged in months and you find dust bunnies. Dust never arrives all at once. It settles one speck at a time, and a soul collects clutter the same way. This message goes room by room through three places clutter piles up: sins we haven't confessed, conflicts we haven't settled, and feelings we haven't sorted. A pebble in the shoe, a splinter in the finger, a grudge carried for years: each one steals joy long before anyone notices. David's prayer in Psalm 139 asks God to search the heart, and Psalm 32 shows what hidden sin cost him and how quickly relief came once he confessed. Paul and Barnabas split sharply over whether to take John Mark along, yet neither let the disagreement derail what God had planned for them. Feelings report what is happening inside us, and Scripture has the final word. The invitation is to open the door and let the Holy Spirit do the cleaning.
